Job Summary
The Liaison and Protocol Assistant will handle administrative and liaison tasks related to Privileges and Immunities for the Diplomatic Corps and International Organizations in Uganda. Under the guidance of the National Supply Chain Officer, the role will support document processing for international staff, manage visa applications, and liaise with government agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate documentation for incoming international staff and their dependents.
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Services to expedite visa applications for IOM staff.
- Prepare documents for official shipments to government agencies.
- Facilitate airport pass requests for IOM staff and officials.
- Liaise with government agencies and embassies for licenses for international officials.
- Assist in issuing temporary and annual airport passes.
- Scan and e-file documents, submit records to the HR Unit.
- Provide transportation for the Chief of Mission to meetings and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education:
- University degree in Business Administration, Mass Communications, or a related field with two years of relevant experience, or
- High School diploma with four years of relevant experience.
- Valid national driver’s license.
Experience:
- Experience in multicultural organizations is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, creativity, and diplomacy.
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written.
