Key Responsibilities:
- Sales/Operational Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to sales and operational teams.
- Ensure alignment with the company’s overarching goals and objectives.
- Sales Optimization:
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiency gains across all sales functions, including order fulfillment and inventory management.
- Vendor and Partner Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners.
- Optimize service levels and negotiate contracts to drive operational excellence.
- Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing operational team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Develop and implement KPIs to monitor operational performance and drive accountability for results.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Develop strategies to mitigate operational risks effectively.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience working in fast-growing tech startups or launching new products within a larger organization.
- Strong understanding of the eCommerce and shipping markets in Africa.
- Ability to scale a cross-functional team by 10x.
- Experience in building HR, Finance, and Ops functions.
- Proficiency in data analysis and operational metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail, even under pressure and tight deadlines.
Bonus/Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in eCommerce or logistics in Africa or the Middle East.
- An MBA degree.
