Job Overview:

The Relationship Manager – Workplace Banking will be accountable for managing and sustaining a portfolio of companies (schemes) and institutions that have signed up for scheme banking and personal financing solutions for their employees. This role involves ensuring consistency, risk management, operational service quality, and timely turn-around. The candidate will work to grow the portfolio by increasing market share, product holding, and scheme penetration while also acquiring new schemes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main contact for scheme clients, coordinating communication and maintaining agreed service standards, pricing, and relationships.
  • Work with personal banking, branch managers, and relationship managers to achieve targets via the schemes value proposition.
  • Collaborate with the Schemes Administration team to ensure timely invoicing and loan repayments.
  • Follow up on any non-repayment cases and manage customer complaints through branches.
  • Train personal banking teams on product offerings and ensure the quality of credit files.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research and recommend product or process changes for personal credit based on market needs.
  • Ensure adherence to risk service standards and identify cross-selling opportunities for various products.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for achieving business and financial targets in workplace banking, particularly in customer numbers, liabilities, assets, and revenue growth.
  • Control workplace banking costs within the agreed budget.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Education:
    A degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
    Certified banking qualification or a master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
  • Experience:
    A minimum of 4 years in a banking or related environment, with at least 3 years in a sales, schemes, and people management role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of personal banking product management.
    • Proven credit skills and business experience.
    • Critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Advanced computer literacy, numerical, and statistical skills.
    • Interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • A natural networker with an assertive, energetic “self-starter” personality.
