Job Opening: Financial Controller (Full-time)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage cash flow on a day-to-day basis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting framework, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct periodic balance sheet reconciliations and recommend actions.
• Manage financial risk and recommend mitigation measures.
• Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
• Ensure accurate reporting of financial results monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually.
• Perform periodic reconciliation of ledgers and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Ensure timely debtor and creditor reconciliations.
• Oversee airline banking transactions and manage audit processes efficiently.
• Manage petty cash for both Head Office and outstations.
• Ensure timely payments to suppliers for goods and services.
• Ensure payroll accuracy before monthly payments.
• Monitor and control sales collection bank account, ensuring timely bank reconciliation.
• Review monthly sales and refund reports from country offices and sales agents.
• Handle passenger refund processes.
• Advise on revenue figures as regulated by the Finance Department.
• Review outstanding ADMs and follow up with agents for recovery.
• Discuss receivable status with station heads periodically and identify concerns.
• Obtain guarantees from agents and GSAs, ensuring compliance with agreements.
• Oversee responses to agents, GSAs, and BSP queries related to financial matters.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• University degree in accounting, finance, statistics, or a related field.
• Professional Accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/CFA).
• Strong knowledge of tax and accounting practices.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a large organization.
• Knowledge of airline industry regulations is a plus.
• Experience in expenditure and revenue accounting in the airline industry is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and training skills.
