Job Summary:
We are seeking to recruit Sports Coaches to develop the children’s technical and tactical sports abilities while fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship both on and off the sports fields.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly physical training for junior and senior athletes, as well as physical education for Watoto schools.
- Identify exposure opportunities (friendly matches, tournaments, club trials) and prepare athletes to participate.
- Organize and coordinate Sports Academy events such as Sports Days, Sports Banquets, and tryouts.
- Conduct regular weekly discipleship, mentorship, and character development sessions for all student-athletes.
- Maintain discipline and control during practice and games, applying firm and fair limits consistently.
- Monitor and communicate academic eligibility standards to student-athletes periodically.
- Ensure all student-athletes abide by the athletes’ code of conduct.
- Collaborate with coaches from various sports disciplines to develop an annual sports program budget.
- Assist the Head Coach with strategic planning for the Sports Academy.
- Identify and assign suitable assistant sports coaches, ensuring compliance with Sports Development department policies.
- Oversee the maintenance, care, and protection of sports facilities, kits, and equipment while keeping an updated inventory record.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports to the Head Coach in a timely manner.
- Attend internal and external coaching seminars, trainings, or workshops for continuous skill improvement.
- Participate in parents’ meetings, devotions, and trainings as necessary.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum of a degree in any relevant discipline. A diploma in Physical Education or Sports Science is an added advantage.
- Recognized Sports Coach by FUBA, FUFA, or UNF.
- At least two years of experience in sports coaching.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and initiative.
- Commitment to working within a team environment and the ability to work independently.
