Job Summary:
The Business Banker (North) will provide proactive business banking sales and service management to retain and grow a portfolio of SME customers. This role involves identifying and implementing specialized financial product solutions from standard or customized offerings, while ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to service standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure adherence to service standards.
  • Verify customer documents for account opening, loan facilities, account amendments, and other instructions.
  • Acquire new business relationships and accounts, growing the portfolio balance sheet as per targets.
  • Manage credit and operational risk in account opening and loan processing.
  • Monitor/manage loan portfolios, participate in Credit Committee meetings, and recover bank funds.
  • Develop and execute operational plans to support branch and bank business strategies, achieving growth in business/institutional clients, fees, and interest income.
  • Provide efficient relationship management for business and institutional clients, ensuring quick transaction turnaround and resolution of queries.
  • Offer professional direction/advice on all client matters within the branch/bank.

Financial Responsibilities:
Performance on the following variables:

  • Transaction Disbursement Volumes
  • New-to-Bank client acquisition
  • Lending and liabilities growth in targeted segments
  • Non-Interest Income (fees and commissions)
  • Interest Income (on business/institution-related lending)
  • Portfolio quality

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business studies or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ sales experience in branch business banking.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of the Business Banking value proposition.
    • Understanding of risk management, credit principles, and financial statements.
    • Strong numeracy, financial advisory, and credit analysis skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Business Behaviors:

  • Ability to meet internal and regulatory standards for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of account relationships and credit applications to ensure smooth deal flow and revenue target achievement.
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders that align with the Bank’s core values.
