Job Overview
Mukwano Industries is seeking to hire five Extension Coordinators who will report to the Production Officer, Production Manager, or Business Unit Manager. The successful candidates will be responsible for engaging with farmers, promoting good agricultural practices, and coordinating various agricultural initiatives in their assigned regions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Visit farmers to sensitize them on good farming practices.
- Collaborate with Community Volunteers for seed supply and harvesting produce.
- Coordinate with Procurement Assistants for seed sales to farmers and purchasing produce.
- Maintain good working relationships with local leaders and liaise with development partners supporting agricultural programs.
- Organize corporate social responsibility activities within the districts of operation.
- Prepare daily activity reports and coordinate the purchase of high-quality seeds.
- Mobilize and locate farmers, coordinate ground trainings, and distribute high-quality seeds.
- Perform any other additional duties assigned by the Extension Services Manager or Zonal Officer.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Diploma in an agricultural-related field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong agricultural background and cross-cultural skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial and analytical skills.
- Ability to speak languages commonly used in the regions of Eastern, Masindi, Nwoya, Karamoja, and West Nile.
