Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Senior ERD Officer, the ERD Assistant will be responsible for mobilizing refugees and host communities, supporting the transparent identification and registration of beneficiaries, and actively participating in the implementation and distribution of ERD activities. The role also involves conducting regular field monitoring and contributing to ERD program reports as per set indicators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mobilize refugees and host communities to ensure understanding of project objectives and activities.
- Support in beneficiary identification and selection in coordination with team members, local authorities, and other humanitarian agencies.
- Actively participate in ERD activity distributions, manage crowd control, and ensure the security of IRC properties.
- Participate in data collection, assessments, and proposal development.
- Organize livelihood activities such as site selection, preparation, distribution, and documentation for Financial Inclusion, Producer/Farmer groups, Business Skills, and Vocational Skills training.
- Conduct field monitoring visits to evaluate progress and provide technical solutions as needed.
- Contribute to weekly and monthly program reports on grant activities, indicators, and achievements.
- Maintain positive relationships with refugee leaders, host communities, and local authorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Forestry, Agribusiness, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in the local context of West Nile or Northern Uganda is an advantage.
- Strong facilitation/training skills, report writing, networking, and communication abilities.
- Fluency in applicable local languages is an added advantage.
- Must be passionate about working with children.
- A track record of high integrity, reliability, and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Valid motorcycle riding license.
