Job Overview:
Qatar Airways is seeking a Reservations and Ticketing Agent for its Entebbe office. The role requires providing professional reservations and ticketing services to customers and travel businesses, either via telephone or in-person, to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and meet revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make and confirm reservations for passengers.
- Arrange reservations and routing using airline schedules, manuals, and reference guides.
- Issue tickets with correct fare quotations, reducing passenger complaints.
- Handle mishandled passengers such as NOREC/DNB and resolve issues.
- Advise on changes in flight plans or reservations.
- Notify load control personnel and other stations of changes in passenger itineraries.
- Ensure timely closure of the sales report.
- Promote QR products to generate revenue.
- Record and process reservations through various communication channels (phone, fax, email).
- Assist travel agents with seat confirmations and ticketing issues.
- Issue MCOs, process refunds, and handle lost tickets.
- Advise passengers on travel routes and ticket costs.
- Communicate with customers or travel agents about changes or alternate travel options.
- Answer inquiries from travel agencies or transportation firms (airlines, buses, railroads).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 1 year of job-related experience.
- Recognized IATA / Airline Basic Tariff Course is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of world geography.
- Proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
- Familiarity with special rates, offers, and promotions.
- Proven ability to manage room sales and adhere to revenue targets.
- Strong quality-consciousness and customer service skills.
