Job Summary:

As a Mental Health Officer at Tiko, you will be responsible for leading and expanding Tiko’s Mental Health program across various locations in Uganda. This role requires expertise in psychology, experience in project management, and working with young people. You will oversee project lifecycles, train staff, collaborate with partners, and ensure high-quality program delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle of the Mental Health program from planning and implementation to evaluation.
  • Train and mentor team members and partners in mental health practices to maintain high standards.
  • Coordinate with community-based organizations and partners while traveling to various parts of Uganda for project implementation.
  • Monitor program progress and report outcomes for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Assist with additional projects and showcase versatility and commitment to teamwork.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Psychology or related fields.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience, with 1-2 years focused on a mental health program role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people in a global health and mental health context.
  • Proven ability in training and capacity building, with strong skills in mentoring others in mental health practices.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple locations with strong project monitoring and reporting skills.
  • Flexibility to travel.

Work Hours:

  • 8 hours per day

Experience:

  • 72 months (6 years)

Education Level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
