The National Scholarship Programme (NSP) of the Slovak Republic is a government initiative aimed at supporting international students, PhD candidates, university teachers, researchers, and artists. It is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic as part of Slovakia’s commitment to international development cooperation.

Program Benefits:

The scholarship is intended to cover living expenses during the recipient’s study, research, artistic, or teaching stay in Slovakia. Scholarship holders may receive assistance from their host institution with accommodation and other formalities related to their stay.

Monthly Scholarship Amounts:

  • University students (second level): €620
  • PhD students: €1,025
  • University teachers/researchers/artists: €1,470

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Be a foreign national (non-Slovak resident).
  2. Be a master’s student at a university outside of Slovakia, or someone who has completed at least 2.5 years of university studies.
  3. Accepted for academic mobility at a public, private, or state higher education institution in Slovakia.
  4. International university teachers, researchers, and artists must be invited by an organization with a certificate of eligibility for research and development in Slovakia to perform teaching, research, or artistic activities.

Eligible Countries:

Open to applicants from all countries.
