Job Description:
The Initiative Manager (IM) will oversee the SUSTAINED project under CARE’s Climate Justice Program. This role involves project management, technical guidance, and quality assurance for CARE and partner-led activities, ensuring gender-transformative renewable energy interventions and effective implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management Oversight:
- Ensure timely delivery of CARE’s project deliverables.
- Monitor budget utilization and manage project risks.
- Consolidate and report financial and narrative reports.
- Program Quality and Learning (PQL):
- Identify and address technological or managerial issues in energy solutions.
- Organize project reflection meetings and ensure gender-transformative practices.
- Ensure quality engagement and communication through established systems.
- Strategic Engagement and Networking (SEN):
- Advocate for clean energy solutions with stakeholders and represent CARE in relevant forums.
- Influence internal and external partners for renewable energy integration.
- Program Design:
- Contribute to the growth of CARE’s energy portfolio.
- Design and document clean energy models and pursue funding opportunities.
- Promote Gender Equity and Diversity:
- Ensure adherence to CARE’s safeguarding policies and promote gender equity and diversity.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy or a relevant field.
- Postgraduate Diploma is mandatory.
- At least 7 years of experience in energy project management.
- Experience in private sector engagement and proposal writing.
- Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid permit.
