Job Summary:
The Senior Procurement Associate will oversee procurement, common services, and logistics functions in accordance with IOM’s regulations, rules, and procedures. This role involves supervising procurement and logistics staff, managing procurement processes, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Procurement and Logistics Assistants, and the Procurement and Administrative Assistant, managing daily operations and conducting capacity building activities.
  • Plan, implement, control, and monitor procurement, common services, and logistics needs for projects and humanitarian activities.
  • Liaise with the Supply Chain Officer to consolidate mission procurement requirements and optimize purchasing power.
  • Ensure Purchase Requisition Forms are completed accurately, obtain necessary financial authorizations, and manage service provider evaluations.
  • Solicit and analyze bids, conduct supplier appraisals, and select suppliers based on value, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, and ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications.
  • Manage vendor invoices, ensure timely payment requests, and coordinate transport and delivery of goods.
  • Oversee compliance with contractual agreements and undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Purchasing and Supplies, Business Administration, or a related field with four years of relevant experience; OR
    • High School diploma with six years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in UN systems or multinational organizations is an advantage.
    • Specialized training in procurement and/or logistics (e.g., CIPS or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
