About Uganda Security Printing Company (USPC):
USPC is mandated by the Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT) to print electronic Driver’s Licenses for the government of Uganda under the Uganda Driver Licensing System (UDLS) project. UDLS produces and issues secure, world-class computerized driving licenses.

Position Summary:
The Project Driver will manage project vehicles, ensuring routine maintenance, registration, and coordination of transportation for field activities and project staff. The role also involves providing logistical support in delivering welfare services to staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure routine maintenance, renewal of licenses and insurance, and perform minor repairs. Keep vehicles clean and in good condition.
  • Transportation: Drive project vehicles to transport authorized personnel, deliver or collect documents, and perform other required tasks.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain trip movement records, including official trips, mileages, fuel consumption, oil changes, and greasing in line with project policies.
  • Logistics Support: Provide logistical assistance as needed and report any vehicle faults.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Ordinary Level Certificate of Education with a Credit in English.
    • Certificate in automobile mechanics.
    • Valid Driver’s permit with two or more Classes, including Class D1.
    • Excellent experience in driving manual vehicles.
  • Desirable:
    • Certificate in Defensive Driving from an established driving school/firm.
    • Minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
    • Experience in fleet management and mechanics.

    • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
    • Good coordination and organizational skills.
    • Good time management.
  • Attributes:
    • High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
    • Ability to work under pressure and as a team player.
    • Flexibility to work extended hours and travel domestically if required.
