Job Summary:
The IT Security Manager will plan, manage, and coordinate BRAC Uganda Bank’s Information Security programs to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the bank’s IT assets. The role involves managing IT service continuity, including business continuity management (BCM), disaster recovery (DR), and work area recovery (WAR) processes.

Reports to: Head of Information Technology

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive IT security architecture.
• Manage the assessment of IT programs against policies and security standards, implementing security controls.
• Enforce policies, procedures, and measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
• Ensure information security is integrated into IT projects and innovations throughout their lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory policies, guidelines, and standards related to information security.
• Develop and implement information security and disaster recovery programs in line with approved standards.
• Review BCM plans for all technology processes, ensuring adequacy and proper testing.
• Track compliance of security controls and address lapses in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to review risk and compliance of mission-critical IT programs.
• Provide periodic security management assurance reports and attestations.
• Manage third-party and vendor compliance with the bank’s information security and BCM frameworks.
• Oversee access management operations and governance of systems and user identity lifecycle management.
• Manage cyber incident response and containment plans.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field.
• Certifications such as CEH, CISM, CISA, or CISSP are an added advantage.
• At least three years of experience in a busy information security domain.
• Solid experience in cybersecurity controls and incident handling.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competences:

• Expertise in designing information security programs, governance, risk, and compliance.
• Ability to communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical staff.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations related to cybersecurity and technology risk management.
• In-depth knowledge of vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and secure network architecture.
• Strong leadership, analytical skills, and adherence to timelines.
