Overview: The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) seeks a Manager of Business Development to drive the growth and retention of students and members, enhance the Institute’s image and brand, and implement marketing strategies. This role involves overseeing membership development, coordinating events, and managing marketing efforts to promote the Institute.
Job Title: Manager Business Development
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the growth, registration, development, and retention of membership and studentship.
- Coordinate service provision across various stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Institute’s marketing plan to enhance its image and brand.
- Manage communication functions and coordinate the Institute’s events to achieve objectives.
- Implement and maintain an image database to support the Communications, Relations, and Events Teams.
- Scan the environment for emerging trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Develop, implement, and monitor departmental plans and budgets.
- Implement risk management strategies within the department.
- Supervise line staff and provide administrative support to Committees responsible for Member Services, Marketing, and Events Management.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Secretary/CEO.
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Degree in a business-related field.
- At least seven (7) years of relevant experience.
- Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in business development, strategy, or marketing.
- Professional certification in marketing or accountancy.

It regulates and maintains the standard of accountancy in Uganda and prescribes the conduct of accountants. ICPAU is also redeveloping its office block into a multi-storied building at Plot 42 Bukoto Street, Kololo.
