Job Summary:
The Shift Engineer – UHT is responsible for implementing and coordinating day-to-day control and continuous improvement of UHT processing. The role includes ensuring effective manpower usage, supervising UHT operations in line with plant policies and procedures, and achieving daily shift production targets and performance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily production reports, including manpower, milk production, and raw materials, and submit to the manager for decision-making.
  • Ensure availability of adequate raw materials and packaging materials for production.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs by UHT operators.
  • Schedule and carry out preventive maintenance of UHT equipment (Fino A1, TBA-19, and A3 compact machine) to reduce machine downtimes.
  • Implement Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) of the plant according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Make timely spare requisitions for maintenance.
  • Supervise contracted staff responsible for packing to avoid damages during packaging.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable food safety standards.
  • Verify all applicable Critical Control Points (CCPs), Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRPs), and Prerequisite Programs (PRPs).
  • Service machines according to manufacturer’s operating specifications.
  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications Required:

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Tetra Pak machines.

Technical & Behavioural Competencies:

  • Analytical skills.
  • Good technical background in dairy processing equipment.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Work scheduling knowledge.
  • Team management.
  • Time management.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts.
