Description: Redeem International is seeking a passionate Community Liaison to amplify the impact of their legal interventions. This role involves building relationships with community leaders, raising awareness about Redeem’s work, and advocating for justice.

Responsibilities:

  • Casework Support:
    • Develop communication strategies for individual cases.
    • Obtain informed consent for storytelling and communication efforts.
    • Capture stories of Redeem’s impact through photos, videos, and interviews.
    • Raise public awareness about relevant laws and interventions.
    • Respond to media inquiries and serve as a spokesperson for Redeem.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with local media, political, cultural, and religious leaders.
    • Secure agreements with local authorities to support Redeem’s work.
    • Gather community feedback on Redeem’s interventions and the justice system.
    • Advocate for law enforcement efforts with local leaders.
    • Facilitate community outreach meetings to educate and garner community support.
    • Track and evaluate all community engagement and communication efforts.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Communicate with donors, supporters, and media about Redeem’s work.
    • Contribute to organizational systems, guidelines, and policies.
    • Participate in professional development and spiritual formation activities.
    • Support other teams within Redeem.
    • Complete other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Degree or equivalent in communications, business, marketing, etc.
  • Experience:
    • Required: 2+ years in community engagement or a related role.
    • Required: Project management experience with grassroots communities.
    • Preferred: Experience in communications or media.
    • Preferred: Experience working with law enforcement.
  • Skills:
    • Required: Fluency in English, Runyoro, and Runyakitara (written & oral).
    • Required: Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
    • Required: Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Preferred: Media and event management skills.
    • Preferred: Computer literacy (word processing, email, etc.).
    • Preferred: Google Business Suite and project management tools.
  • Attributes:
    • Required: Mature Christian faith.
    • Required: High integrity and trustworthiness.
    • Required: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
    • Required: Excellent judgment and ethical decision-making.
    • Required: Problem-solving skills in complex situations.
    • Required: Persistence, tenacity, and commitment to deadlines and results.
    • Required: Love-motivated service orientation.

Location: The Community Liaison will be based in Hoima, Uganda (Bunyoro sub-region) with occasional travel throughout the country.
