About KOICA Uganda: KOICA Uganda, established in 2010, is the official organization for Official Development Assistance (ODA) from the Republic of Korea in Uganda. It focuses on enhancing Uganda’s socio-economic development through projects in rural development, education, health, and other sectors.
Job Summary: As an Agriculture Sector Officer, you will play a pivotal role in KOICA Uganda’s agricultural and rural development projects. Your responsibilities will include managing communications, analyzing data, assisting in project design, stakeholder engagement, and supporting monitoring and evaluation activities under the guidance of the Country Director and Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure technical communication materials meet high standards of quality and consistency.
- Coordinate and oversee project activities according to work plans and budgets.
- Assist in developing and executing monitoring frameworks and evaluating project progress.
- Contribute to the design and formulation of agricultural projects, including research and proposal evaluation.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders relevant to agriculture and rural development.
- Perform additional duties as required to support project objectives.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in agriculture, rural development, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in a similar role.
- Language: Fluent in English (oral and written).
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Attributes: Integrity, confidentiality, ability to work under pressure, and proactive problem-solving skills.
Performance Measurement:
- Ensure updated and quality communications.
- Maintain organized and systematic filing of project documents.
- Produce accurate and timely reports.
Level of Compensation: Up to $1,000 per month, inclusive of government tax, based on qualifications.
Contract Terms:
- Probationary period: Initial three months.
- Annual renewal subject to performance review.
