Job Summary
The Area Manager will lead business growth, acquisition, retention, service, and relationship management in the specified Sales Region. The role involves ensuring the continuous improvement of Bayport Uganda’s image, brand, and name within its chosen segment and customer space. The Area Manager will manage all sales and relationships within the region and oversee a group of branches.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership to a team of Branch Managers and independent sales consultants to meet specified sales targets.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales turnover targets in every branch and region.
- Monitor compliance, implementation, and effectiveness of established policies, procedures, and internal controls in branches, implementing timely incident reporting to assess operational risks.
- Oversee the recruitment and retention of independent Sales and Relationship Consultants, demonstrating competency in identifying, nurturing, training, and leading a young, ambitious sales team.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Branch teams to ensure regional staff can handle sales with institutions and government corporations.
- Handle marketing activities, service sales, activations, and promotional campaigns within the region to meet company performance objectives.
- Ensure well-trained, competent, and motivated professional teams of Relationship Consultants.
- Proactively lead service and sales dialogues, regional financial literacy programs, sales & lead generation meetings, and create opportunities for independent sales contractors in the region.
- Conduct periodic on-site branch supervision and generate reports in line with regional sales and branch operations requirements.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the supervisor on overall business performance and progress on strategy and plan implementation.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any business or professional training is desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry, with at least 3 years at a Regional Management and Department supervisory level in Sales.
- Working and professional knowledge of the local geo-eco-politics, languages, civil service vote operation system, and cultural settings.
- Understanding of the Bayport Business model.
- Excellence in leadership with the ability to manage an independent field-based sales team and motivate performance.
- Excellence in public engagement.
- Highest levels of integrity, self-drive, smart, energetic, and emitting positive energy.
