Background and Purpose of the Assignment:

WFP Uganda’s Country Strategic Plan (CSP) 2018-2025 aligns with national policy objectives to address food insecurity and malnutrition, support refugees, and strengthen social protection systems. The Partnerships Development Unit leads WFP’s strategic engagement with various stakeholders. Effective communication is crucial for generating awareness and support for WFP’s initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and advise the communication team.
• Analyze communication gaps and opportunities.
• Develop and implement WFP Uganda’s Communication strategy.
• Produce multimedia content for various platforms.
• Enhance WFP Uganda’s visibility regionally and globally.
• Edit and review communication materials.
• Strengthen the CO communication team’s capacity.

Deliverables:

• Finalized communication strategy.
• Tailored content production plans.
• Developed multimedia content.
• Designed multimedia campaigns.
• Established stronger partnerships with regional and global Communication Units.
• Regularly revised communication materials.
• Strengthened communication team capacity.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Education: Advanced University degree in relevant fields or First University Degree with additional experience.
• Experience: Minimum six years in relevant roles.
• Skills: Proven management skills, excellent multimedia and writing skills, strong analytical skills, good editorial judgment, and experience in branding and layout.
• Language: Fluency in English.
