Position: Merchandizer (Full-time)

Java House is excited to announce an opening for a Merchandizer to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to ensure the optimal presentation and availability of our products in supermarkets.
Primary Purpose and Scope of the Job:
- Achieve the budgeted sales volume through effective maintenance of allocated shelf space in supermarkets.
- Ensure Java SKU’s are available, tidy, and replenished on time.
- Manage in-store product sampling and promotions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain presentable and well-stocked shelf space for all listed Java retail products.
- Ensure Java house SKU’s are correctly priced with properly marked shelf labels.
- Initiate orders with shelf stockers and arrange for replenishment through the procurement team.
- Monitor slow-moving SKU’s and advise the Sales Supervisor.
- Check for short expiries and inform the Category Manager and Sales Supervisor for solutions.
- Facilitate inter-branch stock transfers for key accounts.
- Collect market intelligence on competitors’ activities.
- Conduct planned sales and in-store promotions.
- Report customer feedback and needs to the Sales Supervisor for appropriate action.
- Present a weekly status report on sales, shelf conditions, slow stocks, and LPO turnover rates.
- Maintain stores, sets, testers, merchandising units, displays, and product literature.
- Assist in sales payments collection for the accounts/routes attended.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure allocated retail space is well-stocked and maintained.
- Maintain 95% stocking of retail space with 100% agreed shelf space.
- Raise orders and LPO’s in good time to prevent stockouts.
- Ensure no Java SKU’s are out of stock at any time.
- Monitor and advise on short expiries and slow-moving SKU’s.
- Coordinate product sampling and promotions within allocated stores.
Performance Indicators:
- Execute promotions at a 90-100% rate, aiming for at least 15% growth in sales for promoted items.
- Keep daily activity reports updated for the supervisor.
- Provide prompt reporting and escalate urgent matters via phone call.
Core Competencies:
Experience:
- 1+ year of retail merchandising experience within the beverage industry.
- Experience interacting directly with retailers and shelf-line teams.
Skills & Abilities:
- Organized, detail-oriented, and great follow-up skills.
- Knowledge of allocated territory/accounts.
- Good communication and strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned geography.
- Customer influence with a proven record in delivering visible results.
- Passionate about growing brands, persuasive with ideas and opinions.
- Customer-focused, enjoys meeting new people and learning about their businesses.
- Results-driven and able to find solutions to achieve objectives.
Qualifications/Knowledge:
- Diploma in business, sales, or marketing, or a certificate in sales and marketing.
- Basic coffee knowledge.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, driven achiever able to implement both formal and informal KPIs.
- Uses extensive merchandising knowledge to spot opportunities.
