NIC General Insurance Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of NIC Holdings Limited (NIC). NIC General was incorporated on 3rd March, 2014, and took over the general insurance businesses of NIC in compliance with the legal requirement for separation of insurance businesses under the Insurance (Amendment) Act.
NIC General Insurance is looking for an experienced individual to take up the position of Senior IT Officer – IT Infrastructure.
Reports to: Head ICT
Purpose:
To offer technical support for all organization IT infrastructure and ensure the availability of IT assets that support the business processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Server administration and preventive/proactive maintenance.
- Bulk SMS Management.
- ICT Infrastructure assets management and maintenance.
- End user data backup and management, ensuring security measures are in place, and updating antivirus software regularly.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems, networks, and peripherals.
- Manage the telephone PABX System.
- Manage the employee clock-in system.
- Assist in help desk support on the AIMS and company email.
- Serve as an IT resource for personnel in other departments.
- Make recommendations for infrastructure provisioning solutions or improvements through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
- Perform any other professional duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- At least three (3) years of proven work experience in IT support or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, hardware, software, and networks.
- Experience with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and office software.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good understanding of IT security principles and practices.
