Job Description:
Jhpiego seeks a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to support and implement monitoring and evaluation activities for the United funded project aimed at mitigating antimalarial drug resistance in Uganda through interventions that rapidly diversify artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) use.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the M&E function to ensure project goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Develop and implement the Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP).
  • Oversee implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.
  • Develop and oversee robust systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Lead results reporting to the donor and ensure alignment with national M&E guidelines.
  • Conduct targeted assessments, evaluations, and operations research.
  • Train and mentor project staff and partners in M&E methods and systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in public health, demography, statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in monitoring and evaluating international health projects.
  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Familiarity with health management information systems and DHIS2.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in malaria and health systems strengthening.
  • Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, Stata).
  • Previous work with USAID or other international donors.
