The UNHCR Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative (DAFI) Scholarship Programme for 2024 is now accepting applications. This scholarship, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Germany, aims to support refugees in Uganda in pursuing higher education opportunities. To be eligible, applicants must be between 18-35 years old as of January 1, 2024, and officially registered as refugees with both OPM Uganda and UNHCR-Uganda.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Be currently living as a refugee in Uganda and officially registered with both OPM Uganda and UNHCR-Uganda.
- Be between 18-35 years old as of 1st January 2024 (applicants must be born no earlier than 1st January 1989 and no later than 1st January 2006).
- Have completed secondary school and already be in possession of their official original Pass slips or its equivalents i.e. Diploma d’etat, University diplomas, Higher Education Access Certificate etc. (if applicable) at the time of application.
- Have a recognized DIT Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) certificate will be considered for TVET courses.
- Have Basic English Training (oral and written competence).
- Be facing financial barriers to accessing or completing undergraduate post-secondary education.
