Opportunity Overview: As a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant at Water Mission, you will work under the guidance of the M&E Officer to support program M&E needs, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of program implementation. Based in Jinja, Uganda, you will assist in developing performance monitoring plans, results frameworks, and an M&E system. Your role involves measuring, analyzing, and reporting results, with occasional travel to remote project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the M&E Officer to establish a robust monitoring plan and develop M&E guidelines, frameworks, and indicators.
- Lead and assist in conducting regular data review meetings at the field office, noting actionable points and lessons learned.
- Provide data and information to program managers and staff as needed.
- Enforce data quality assurance, control, and improvement measures for all program interventions.
- Conduct routine data quality audits, document findings, and support resolution of systemic issues.
- Design and review data collection tools, databases, and surveys.
- Conduct baseline and end-line surveys and document field monitoring visits.
- Ensure timely and accurate data collection, entry, and reporting.
- Compile and consolidate monthly, quarterly, mid-year, and annual reports.
Requirements:
Relationship and Alignment:
- Personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Alignment with Water Mission’s Statement of Faith and core values of Love, Excellence, and Integrity.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Science, or relevant field.
- Postgraduate training in M&E or Statistics is advantageous.
- Two years of experience in a similar position with a local or international NGO.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in MS Excel, SPSS, Water Surveyor, Kobo Collect, Survey CTO, and STATA.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel to field locations as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Good presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint.
