Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Financial Specialist, the Budget Analyst oversees multiple post budgets and is responsible for budget formulation, monitoring, reporting, and responding to data calls. Duties include conducting research and computations to establish cost and expense levels for financial plans, ensuring obligations and expenditures align with the budget, advising agencies on budget variations, recommending alternatives, and forecasting expenditure. The role also involves report preparation for assigned agencies and the Financial Management Officer.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Education:
- University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Social Sciences, Arts, Education, Social Work and Social Administration, Law, Finance, Ethics, or Development.
Experience:
- Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, budgeting with a computerized system, or cashiering.
- Good working knowledge of budgeting fundamentals, forecasting techniques, and financial management.
- Ability to relate funds management with mission, programs, and projects at post.
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to articulate complex issues both orally and in writing.
Language:
- Level IV English ability (fluent) is required.
