Job Summary:
The Lead – Business HR will work as a business partner to ensure a seamless experience for employees, foster a performance-driven culture, and develop human resources to achieve the organization’s objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct manpower planning and budgeting based on the annual business plan
- Lead HR activities in Uganda and collaborate closely with Business Heads and Global HR-Head to drive business growth and goals
- Oversee and lead talent acquisition efforts, collaborating with business leaders to understand hiring needs and workforce planning
- Develop assessment tools to identify top talent for leadership roles
- Implement HR policies and processes to enhance the overall employee experience
- Define KPIs for goal-oriented employees based on organizational goals
- Ensure Agile rituals are followed by each team, with quarterly retrospectives
- Facilitate bi-annual performance reviews and annual compensation benchmarking
- Ensure compliance with statutory and social regulations
- Manage the employee lifecycle processes and HR operations functions
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and development initiatives
- Handle disciplinary/grievance issues proactively
- Collaborate with Legal and Factory/Plant Heads on HR-related legal matters and agreements
- Coach and mentor the HR team to ensure high performance and engagement
- Coordinate with the corporate L&D team for training and people development needs
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- MBA in Human Resource, Organizational Psychology, or Management studies from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in HRIS/HRMS systems and data analytics
- Exposure to SuccessFactors implementation, Reporting, and Analytics
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in HR leadership roles, preferably as an HRBP or in a similar leadership role
- Strong grasp of HR best practices and knowledge of statutory compliances
- Ability to efficiently manage senior stakeholders and a diverse workforce
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Openness to domestic travel across Uganda
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence
