Job Summary:

We are seeking two dynamic Data Analysts specializing in Health Emergencies at our Jinja and Mubende Regional Emergency Operations Centres. These roles involve critical data handling, analysis, and interpretation to aid decision-making and optimize responses during health emergencies, including pandemics, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection and Integration: Gather and refine data from diverse health-related sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Epidemiological Analysis: Analyze data to track disease dynamics and impacts, aiding in public health decisions and interventions.
  • Predictive Modeling and Forecasting: Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to forecast health trends and resource needs.
  • Surveillance and Early Warning Systems: Implement systems for real-time monitoring of health threats, ensuring rapid response capabilities.
  • Risk Assessment and Vulnerability Mapping: Identify and prioritize vulnerable communities, enhancing targeted public health interventions.
  • Communication and Reporting: Generate and disseminate detailed reports and visualizations to stakeholders and policymakers.
  • Capacity Building and Training: Lead initiatives to enhance skills of public health professionals and data analysts in related fields.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in statistical software (Excel, SPSS, SAS) and data analysis programming languages (SQL, Python, R).
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to manage large datasets and extract actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex data in an accessible manner.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in public health or emergency response environments.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in emergency operations highly desirable.

Work Hours:

8 Hours per Day

Experience in Months:

36 Months Minimum

Level of Education:

Bachelor Degree
