About Restless Development: Restless Development is a women-led and feminist-centered non-profit global agency with 35 years of experience supporting the collective power of young leaders to create a better world. They run youth-led programs to tackle the issues that young people care about the most and bring expertise on youth-led research, advocacy, and inclusive co-creation.
About the Role: Restless Development is seeking dynamic, committed, and passionate young people to join as Youth Mobilisers for the Youth Power in Action project to end violence against children. This project aims to accelerate progress on policy change and catalyze resources in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO). Youth Mobilisers will participate in various activities, engage in youth-led advocacy, and co-create national and global plans of action.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in Youth Power Labs via online sessions to enhance skills in safeguarding, advocacy, and communications.
- Engage in regular collective meetings with the group.
- Design national-level plans of action to engage decision-makers on ending violence against children.
- Create a global-level youth-led advocacy plan focused on the Global Ministerial Meeting.
- Identify and connect with national alliances already working on ending violence against children.
- Engage in actions such as meetings with government officials, child rights activists, and more.
- Connect with and mobilize other young people in their country or region for sustainability in campaigns.
- Representatives from the group will attend the November ministerial meeting and ensure youth leadership within the agenda.
- Participate in Leadership Lab virtual discussions to share perspectives and expertise.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Between 18-24 years old.
- Passionate about youth development and the role of young people in decision-making.
- Based in any WHO “Bright Spot” country.
- Proficient in English, Arabic, Spanish, or French (written and spoken).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- Capacity to commit to the program from start to finish.
- Passionate about addressing violence against children and advocacy.
- Expertise or experience in understanding violence against children.
- Working with national partners or representing in national structures addressing violence against children.
- Young people from diverse backgrounds, including those with lived experience of violence, are encouraged to apply.
