Summary:
Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) seeks a Consultant to Co-Design a Menstrual Cup Free to User and Market-Based Model in Uganda. The consultant will collaborate with design teams to develop and implement innovative strategies for addressing menstrual hygiene management barriers faced by adolescent girls in Yumbe and Arua districts.

Background:
AKF has been working with community and school-based design teams in Yumbe district to identify solutions for improving access to education for adolescent girls. Through Human-Centered Design processes, menstrual cups have emerged as a potential intervention. The consultant will support pilot design teams to co-create scale-up processes for Arua and Yumbe districts.

Scope of Work:
The consultant will work with design teams to:

• Develop a free-to-user model
• Identify a market-based model
• Map distribution channels
• Support monitoring & evaluation activities
• Conduct joint presentations for promoting menstrual cups

Deliverables:

• Graphic report visualizing the model and user journey
• Test the models in selected schools and distribution points
• Develop a monitoring and evaluation framework
• Produce short stories/case studies detailing user experiences

Expected Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring menstrual cup projects in East Africa
• Prior experience in low-resource settings, especially in West Nile, Uganda, is preferred
• Samples of previous similar work demonstrating relevant experience
• Ability to deliver on time and with quality
