DATA MANAGEMENT OFFICER – GEOPHYSICS

JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Data Management Officer – Geophysics, you will be responsible for managing geophysical and related data in alignment with the PAU’s mandate of overseeing petroleum data management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, Engineering, or physical sciences from an internationally recognized institution.

ADDED ADVANTAGE:

• Relevant certifications or courses in data management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Receive geophysical field data from licensees, speculative survey companies, or PAU field teams, ensuring quality control for content, format, and readability before archival/storage and cataloging.
• Maintain corporate databases and data repositories concerning geophysical data.
• Transcribe seismic data from obsolete media to acceptable types and load seismic and potential field data to data interpretation platforms.
• Maintain the seismic data store, including tapes and transcription hardware/software, ensuring regular maintenance and monitoring of environmental conditions.
• Manage data from assigned Contract Areas, including data dissemination to stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of in-house software and web applications for data management.
• Participate in the review and development of policies, legislation, standards, regulations, and guidelines related to petroleum data management.
• Provide first-level support, advice, and guidance on Petro-technical Application usage and maintenance.
