Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Background: The Government of the Republic of Uganda, with support from the International Development Association of the World Bank, is implementing the Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project – Land Component (CEDP AF – LC) under the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development. To support this project, the Ministry is seeking qualified Ugandan citizens for various positions, including Administrative Assistant.

Position Overview: The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development is inviting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant. The incumbent will be responsible for providing administrative support to the team and ensuring efficient office operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor staff reporting to the duty station and ensure timely reporting.
  • Report on staff behavior and compliance to the Manager as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and organizing office logistics.
  • Assist in maintaining office records and filing systems.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Section.

Qualifications:

  • Ugandan citizen with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of working experience in office administration and management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
