Job Title: Geologist Trainee
Organization: CNOOC Uganda
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide Geological technical support and research to the Geology and Reservoir Team.
- Actively participate and make effort to learn the development of well plans.
- Get familiar with final well reports of the drilled wells by taking part in their preparation.
- Learn geological interpretation using PETREL and other interpretation softwares.
- Assist in analyzing geology engineering data (static and dynamic) to obtain updates on geological characteristics and parameters, which will be used for updating geology models.
- Assist in carrying out Geology dynamic data synthesis for the Team.
- Participate in the updating and building of Geology models.
- Assist the Team with drafting of well proposals.
- Participate in well development and post-drilling analysis.
- Assist to track geological operations, submit research results and recommendation reports to Supervisors.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Geology or related field.
- Minimum of 0-2 years working experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of geological research methods and technology.
- Knowledge of seismic, exploration, well logging and development.
- Understanding of Petroleum policies and laws.
