Job Title: Procurement Officer

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
  • Lead the procurement process from initial request to final delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and prices with vendors.
  • Monitor the delivery of goods and services.
  • Track inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of items.
  • Maintain vendor database and records.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors in Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline
  • CIPS is an additional advantage
  • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment Proven work experience as a Procurement Officer.
