Jinja Regional Referral Hospital Profile:
Jinja Regional Referral Hospital, commonly known as Jinja Hospital, is a hospital in the city of Jinja, in the Eastern Region of Uganda. It is the largest hospital in eastern Uganda, with a bed capacity of 600, although many more patients are admitted, with many sleeping on the floor.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Conduct Nutrition assessment
• Participate in the management of patients with acute malnutrition
• Counsel mothers and caregivers on infant, young child and adolescent nutrition
• Promote optimal Nutrition for PLHIV
• Conduct Food demonstrations
• Participate in community outreach services for adequate nutrition.
• Manage and account for the allocated resources (Nutrition equipment and supplies).
• Participate in capacity building activities of Nutrition Volunteers and other health facility staff
• Participate in nutrition data collection Compilation and submission monthly and quarterly reports
• Supervise Nutrition volunteers
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications for this job:
- Must have a Diploma in Human Nutrition or Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and community health from a recognized institution
- Knowledge of the local language of the area is an added advantage

NOTE: All staff recruited under this project will be given employment contracts by the hospital. These are full time jobs, so people already holding full-time Jobs should not apply and salaries will be based on Government scales.
