GrainAid Agency Profile:

GrainAid Agency is a non-profit organization incorporated and registered as National NGO. The organization intends to create access to marketable livelihood options for women and youth, provide tailored skills for running successful livelihood activities, and create access to financial services for the creation and sustainability of livelihoods.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Program Implementation and coordination
• Analyze local market conditions and document viable livelihood options for women and youth
• Support identification of the most vulnerable women/youth to participate in the program
• Facilitate/organize skills development/training for selected program participants • Facilitate/organize the delivery of livelihood items to program participants
• Ensure routine mentoring and coaching for program participants
• Establish Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) for access to financial services
• Keep sub-county and relevant District officials informed on activities, progress, challenges, and recommendation
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and engagements and represent GrainAid Agency at the parish/sub-county meetings on behalf of the program officer
• Compile and submit weekly activity reports, and monthly reports in line with the work plan
• Monitor, and document data on outcomes/ results and impacts of different program activities
• Document success/human stories as well as pictures and video clips

 

Minimum Qualifications for US Embassy Uganda Jobs 2022:

• Minimum of Degree in Social Sciences, SWASA, Development studies, Adult and Community Education, and any related field
• Familiar with NGO program work, project implementation, and working with grassroots structures and community beneficiaries
• Familiar with the regional development challenges of Northern Uganda & West Nile sub-region
• Experience in writing basic reports, concept notes, and data collection and basic data analysis.
• Fair coordination skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Lugbara languages
• Strong interpersonal, and organizational skills as well as good judgment
• Able to ride a motorbike with a valid driving/riding permit
• Pays attention to details including pro-activeness, creativity, and reliability
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills, and approaches
• Ability to appreciate cross-cutting issues, especially gender & environment
• Able to consult and make quick decisions whenever needs arise
• The Post Holder should be flexible, a good team player, and patient with others.
