Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) Profile:
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. UEDCL monitors Umeme Ltd’s investment, distributes power in eight (8) territories covering over 60 Districts operates the pole plant at Lugogo, and executes some of the rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Job Summary:
To operate pole plant-heavy vehicles in carrying out day-to-day business.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Operate the pole handler tractor to load and offload poles and any other equipment at the plant yard as instructed by the supervisor.
- Keep records of the pole handler and report to the supervisor whenever services or repairs are necessary.
- Maintain a logbook and account for all operations of the pole handler.
- Keep the pole handler clean
- Identify risks in the section and devise mechanisms for mitigating them.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports on sectional activities following UEDCL policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Uganda Certificate of Education ( “O’’ level Certificate)
- Should hold a valid driving permit ( Class required B1, and G. Class CE is an added advantage)
- A certificate in defensive driving is an added advantage
- Experience of not less than 3 years in handling heavy vehicles
- Able to communicate well (Orally and written)
