Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise the planning for risk assessment of any of the bank’s branch, unit or department to Risk Officers in line with the department’s work plan and ensuring that the reviews by risk follow a risk-based approach.
- Supervise the preparation of process flow charts for key bank activities or processes to enable easy understanding of the bank process and what it does.
- Understand the functionality of the Risk Self-Assessment methodology and ensure its implementation as one of the Bank’s major risk management tool.
- Together with Risk register owners, assist in a near “real time” update of the Risk registers ensuring that the risk registers are kept up to date with new risks exposures identified during risk assessment reviews or by internal audit, external audit and Bank of Uganda.

- Undertake field visits and offsite assessment to identify key risks inherent in the bank’s business processes as well as emerging financial industry risks, suggest mitigation measures and ensure that all areas assigned as per the department work plan are completed within the assigned time line.
- Prepare risk assessment or assurance reports after each field visit or offsite assessment, ensuring that this follows an agreed reporting writing format and that identified risks are clearly reported and explained
- Supervise tests/assessments of the bank’s business continuity plan and provide assurance on resilience of the plan to limit losses in the event of severe business disruption
- Any other duty that may be assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, banking, business administration, accounting or any other relevant business course.
