Job Summary:
The Stakeholder and Grant Manager owns together with a colleague within the Global Funding SHS team the grant raising activities across the EEA markets. This role entails working closely with the EEA Finance team and the Country teams as well as significant cross-collaboration with other EEA teams to establish deep, meaningful and sustainable relationships with existing and potential donors, policymakers and other external stakeholders. The Grant Manger develops compelling and fact-driven funding proposals, manages the entire end-to-end fundraising and development process and identifies new grant opportunities to drive growth within new and existing markets to establish EEA as the market leader within the industry.
This role will require travel to sub-Saharan Africa.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Owns together with a colleague the EEA grant raising strategy to establish deep, meaningful and sustainable relationships with existing and potential donors, policymakers, and industry relationships
- Create compelling and fact-driven funding proposals as well as supporting documents in collaboration with other EEA teams and identify new grant opportunities
- Manage the grant pipeline, the overall grant reporting and monitoring process to donors as well as additional donor-requests
- Develop and maintain grants database, including tracking tender release dates, application close dates, and other key information
- Identify key industry events at which EEA should take part to optimize the grant strategy and represent EEA at these events
- Identify grant opportunities for our existing kit mix but also for new products including productive usages.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
- At least 2 years in a fundraising and development capacity, and knowledge of the African donor landscape and fundraising processes
- Proven track record of writing & closing meaningful grant & concessionary funding objectives
- Superb written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Excitement about EEA´s mission and deep desire to make an impact on off-grid financially underserved customers in sub-Saharan Africa
- A solid team player who also performs independently
- A passion for storytelling — written, verbal, and visual — balanced with research and analysis
- Robust research and analytical skill-set, curiosity, and a desire to think outside the box
- Strong attention to detail, deadline driven and entrepreneurial mindset.
Qualifications:
- University Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent.
- Masters degree or equivalent work experience is a plus
Language(s):
- English
- French and/or Portuguese is a plus.
