Job Summary:
The Legal Officer shall provide the required legal support under the instruction of the Head of Legal and in accordance with applicable laws and the Company’s standards and policies.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Corporate secretarial services to the Companies carrying out the business.
- Claims, dispute resolution and litigation management.
- Routine and dynamic business matters including contract management; real property management including ground rent and property rates management; conveyancing; trademark management; collateral management and trade debt recovery.
- Legal support and advice to the staff retirement benefits scheme.
- Implementation of a responsive records management system.
Qualifications
- University degree in Law and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
- Enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda.
- 4 years of work experience in a commercial/corporate setting with at least 2 years work experience post-enrollment as an Advocate
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and understanding of Ugandan law.
- Good IT skills
- ICSA Diploma will be an added advantage
