Roles and responsibilities:
- Ensure timely payments to suppliers and tax authorities.
- Ensure supplier invoices submitted are uploaded in the Invoice Tracker as guided by the Service Level Agreement.
- Monitor the invoice Tracker and share status of the invoice approvals regularly with all stakeholders.
- Ensure correct allocation of company expenses.
- Ensure invoice documents comply with the Local Tax Authority and Internal control requirements.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned with a zero margin of error.
- Ensure the right application and treatment of WHT & VAT for qualifying Vendors as guided by the Local Tax Authority.
- Reconcile and monitor schedules of all Prepayments accounts including Prepaid Duty giving regular updates on the reasons why they remain outstanding if any.
- Perform Vendor Reconciliations between the General Ledger and Supplier Statements of Accounts on an ongoing basis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Statistics, Business Administration or Economics
- Three years experience in the Accounts Payable Section
- A Professional Qualification is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of the Uganda Tax Laws
