Mukwano Industries Uganda Limited Profile:
The Mukwano Group of Companies is the leading manufacturer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range of market leader brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal care products and plastics.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Check to ensure that all plant machines are set to optimal utilization
- Check to ensure that input material and products meet quality requirements
- Follow the established procedures and guidelines to manufacture products according to production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards
- Coordinate with the Maintenance department to troubleshoot and perform regular maintenance on equipment,
- Implement good manufacturing practices such as housekeeping, labeling and records
- Monitor the normal functional status of all pumps, motors and valves
- Ensure that the filters are timely cleaned and changed
- Ensure that required raw materials stocks are availed in time
- Inspect and monitor service and repair update checklist on all machines
- Ensure correct transfer of material such as oil and raw material from one location to another
- Any other duties assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Industrial Chemistry or any related field
- 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Good communication skills including reading skills
- An aptitude for math
- Mechanical ability
- Physical strength and stamina
- The ability to work in high places
- The ability to get along well with co-workers
- The ability to keep up to date with changing technology
- The ability to do precision work.
