Job Summary
Carry out routine monitoring and tracking of pharma inventory to ensure the safety of medical supplies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinating project activities that involve the management and storage of health commodities including pharmaceutical supplies and medical equipment at the facilities. Ensuring that we comply with the WHO GDP standards.
- Ensuring that all pharmaceutical products received in the warehouse are dispatched and utilized at the facility before their expiration dates. Putting strategies in place to ensure appropriate utilization of donor funds by reducing wastage through expiries.
- Ensuring the availability of cost-effective, safe, efficacious, and rational use of pharmaceutical products using different tools e.g., SPARS, IRC Pharmacy Assessment tools etc.
- Strengthening the process of Logistics management of supplies in alignment with MOH guidelines and donor policies.
- Ensure tracking and accountability for all medical and pharmaceutical products as well as related supplies used by the health facilities.
- Support forecasting and quantification of supplies obtained from the warehouse as well use data received from the facility for key decision making.
- Support good storage and distribution practices at both warehouse and facilities.
- Prepare monthly reports for both the donors and internally as IRC.
- Use and regular updating of the available Pharma inventory systems like Rx solution.
- Ensuring capacity building of the dispensers in the management and use of medicines and health commodities in the facilities through constantly training the staffs on the SOPs and any other identified capacity gaps.
- Any other activities as assigned by the supervisor
Minimum Qualifications for IRC Uganda Jobs 2022
- The ideal applicant must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy from recognized institution
- Active Registration with the Allied Medical Practitioners Council with proof of practicing license.
- At least three years of experience in a busy NGO setting
- Good written and verbal communication or interpersonal skills is a must.
