AKES, Uganda operates schools in Kampala from Pre-School to High School and offers the British National Curriculum (BNC), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the Uganda National Primary and Secondary Curriculum.
Job Summary
The ICT Support Associate will work closely with the ICT Associate . He/ She will assist in the general maintenance of computer software and hardware equipment, trouble shooting and solving of identified technical problems, provide help desk services to staff.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide first level of techincial support to the users of all ICT services (including information systems) available at AKES schools and ofifices in Uganda.
- Keeping constant communication with line managers regarding: ICT incidents, servce downtimes, projects progress and all IT matters at schools and offices in Uganda
- Assist in the implementation and support of all ICT initiatives and information systems
- Assist in the implementation of ICT policies and Standard Operating Procedures
- Ensure timely installation, configuration and maintenance of ICT hardware, software and network equipment
- Assist schools in indetifying and quantifying ICT needs
- Maintain updated inventory records for ICT hardware, software and network equipment
- Ensure regular updates to operating systems and antimalware solutions for all computers
- Ensure preventive maitenance and service of ICT equipment
- Ensure timely troubleshooting and reqpair of faulty ICT quipment, liaise with respective departments and enxternal service providers for resolution of tehcincial issues
- Provide techical training to the users of ICT services as and when required
Minimum Qualifications:
Skills required for the job:
- All-round IT skillset required; network infrastructure, hardware, software, information security.
- Ability to administer and use information systems.
- Good communication skills (English language).
- Ability to work well in teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or related field from a reputable organization.
- Relevant certifications would be an added advantage.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a school environment
