Job Summary
Looking for a videographer to professionally capture and document the projects of Show Mercy International. This will include getting footage of clean water projects, interviewing staff as necessary, documenting the work of missions teams while they are in Uganda, helping to interview and create footage for children needing child sponsorship, documenting and interviewing mothers and babies at our Birthing Center and capturing any other video footage we would need. You must provide your own camera equipment. This is a part time position working approximately one day per week. Footage would need to be uploaded to our team in the US for editing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action.
- Ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly.
- To promote the vision, mission and the values of SMI as expressed in the policies, regulations and guidelines of the Organisation.
- Other tasks as assigned
Standards for professional conduct: Both Professional and the Organisation’s ethical code of conduct should be adhered to.
Minimum Qualifications
- Born-again Christian.
- The applicant must hold a Bachelors or Diploma in a related field.
- At least two (2) years of prior professional experience in a similar post in a busy setting.
- Ability to use Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, taking on roles and responsibilities as needs and opportunities arise.
- Ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages.
- Ability to create appropriate content for dissemination via the various distribution channels.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
- Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies.
- Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal, public speaking and networking skills.
- High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
- Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, volunteers, program participants, and other supporters.
- Self-starter, able to work independently but also as part of a team; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
- Natural leader who displays strong decision-making and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Integrity and ability to develop a productive working relationship with team members
- Knowledge of local languages spoken in the area

(If you’re along the Northern by-pass, get a taxi to Kakiri still or one to Wakiso from where you’ll board another headed to Kakiri.)
