Job Summary:
The Cashier/Store keeper will efficiently provide comprehensive information, clerical, and accounting services to assist the organization finance unit in executing processes and delivering service needs that support high-quality programs serving the poor and vulnerable. As part of finance team, you will deliver quality support in your role, applying clearly defined accounting and financial reporting processes, procedures and service standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Stock the drugs and other supplies in proper manner in the appropriate location and category.
- Carry out periodical (weekly/daily) physical verification and stock take and asses the stock position.
- Prepare purchase order and submit for signature of manager and send to different suppliers.
- Receive the goods supplied by the suppliers.
- Manage follow-up of advance payments.
- Manage balances on the organizations mobile money account
- Handle monthly reconciliations
- Manage inter department requisition balances and communicate unattended to budgets for each department.
- Manage utility transactions and maintain relevant reports
- Carry out stock takes.
- Issue the drugs to the pharmacy on receipt of indent.
- Check and record the discrepancies in the drugs dispatched from the store to the pharmacy and the actual number recorded on the sales day book.
- After all the transactions are completed; verify the stock at the closing hours daily.
- Continuously check expiry of the drugs and other supplies. Making sure that the medicines are up to date.
- Manage and monitor both the family planning store and the general clinic store
- Receives posts and balances payments as received.
- Reconciles total when errors are detected.
- Totals money received and verifies totals with cash-on-hand in a daily basis
- Prepare and ensure all the cash collections are kept in safe at the accountant’s office daily.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate for the Cashier job opportunity should hold a Diploma Business Administration in Accounting, stores management or any other related field.
- At least one year of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Computer literacy skills i.e., proficiency in Word and Excel; knowledge of accounting software is an added advantage.
- Self-motivator, having the ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to give transparent accountability
- Able to meet deadlines
- Strong customer service ethic and abilities,
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Good oral and written skills in English. Proficiency in Luganda will be an added advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail,
