The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and independent international humanitarian organisation, which assists and protects victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence

Job Summary:

The Housekeeper ensures that ICRC premises are clean.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Cleaning (40%)

• Cleans the residence or the areas allocated when assigned to the office
• Dusts the furniture, drawers, wardrobes, and IT equipment
• Ensures and maintains general cleanliness and hygiene of the premises
• Sweeps and mops the floors.
• Cleans the dishes, pans, fridge, cooker, oven, blender, microwave and other kitchen utensils
• Dusts and cleans the walls, windows and curtain boxes or railings

Laundry (40%)

• Washes and changes the towels, bedsheets, clothes or other linen
• Irons bed sheets, clothes and other linen
• Removes the curtains, washes and irons them every three months

Preparation of coffee/tea breaks – if assigned to the office (15%)

• Prepares coffee and tea and serves it
• Collects and washes the dishes, utensils and dish cloths
• Respects kitchen hygiene rules and conditions
• Supports in serving refreshments during meetings or other functions at the office.

Stock keeping (5%)

• Keeps small stocks of items such as sugar, tea and coffee when assigned to the office
• Keeps inventory of the items in the kitchen or residence and notifies the immediate Supervisor in case of
  any repair or replacement needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• O’ Level certification
• Knowledge of basic hygiene principles
• Knowledge of English (written and spoken)
