World University Service of Canada (WUSC) is a Canadian non-profit organization with a mission to foster human development and global understanding through education and training. The Adolescent Girls’ Education in Crisis Initiative (AGENCI) project being implemented in consortium by WUSC, Aga-Khan Foundation (AKF) and Windle International Uganda (WIU) with funding from Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The AGENCI project targets adolescent girls between the age of 10-24 years in Moyo and Obongi, Uganda.
Job Profile
WUSC Uganda Country Office is implementing a four-year project code named AGENCI. The AGENCI Project, currently in its second year, is implemented in Moyo and Obongi Districts in partnership with Windle International Uganda (WIU) and Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). The project focuses on the empowerment of adolescent girls through two key interventions, that is; (i) reducing social, cultural and economic barriers to accessing safe, secure, gender equitable and quality education by adolescent girls, and (ii) improving equitable learning outcomes for adolescent girls.
The Tele Caregiver will therefore be in liaison between WUSC Uganda and partners and its current and potential beneficiaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively solving beneficially psychosocial issues, complaints and inquiries; keeping beneficiary satisfaction at the core of every decision and behavior.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Managing large amounts of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner,
• Following communication “scripts” when handling different topics,
• Identifying beneficiaries’ needs, clarifying information, researching every issue and providing solutions and or alternatives
• Supporting project beneficiaries to understand referral systems and networks and ensuring that beneficiaries follow the referral pathways,
• Recording critical beneficiary data using available referral forms and ensuring that copies of these forms are shared with appropriate staff,
• Occasionally checking with service providers as well as WUSC Uganda and Partners to ensure complete referrals and follow-ups,
• Taking an extra mile to build sustainable and meaningful relationships with beneficiaries,
• Keeping records of all conversations with beneficiaries and ensuring that daily records are entered into the database,
• Frequently participating in educational seminars to improve knowledge and performance levels, Ensuring that personal and Team qualitative and quantitative targets are met, 11) Maintaining confidentiality of the information provided by project beneficiaries.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience working with ethnically diverse communities and with projects implementing gender mainstreaming strategies;
• Demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles;
• Working knowledge of computers with skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs;
• Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills in English and any two of these local languages, that is, Madi, Juba Arabic and South Sudan Acholi.
• Strong people relation building skills will be an added advantage.

Excellent listening skills, good computer skills, empathy and understanding, a non-judgmental attitude, patience and a calmness, ability to relate well with the community, young people and children, ability to cope with emotional situations, and ability to relate to and adapt a communication style that suits a wide range of people.
