Job Profile
Be directly responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of WASH activities of the project as stipulated in the project document.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Be directly responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of WASH activities of the project as stipulated in the project document
- Under the direction and supervision of the Project Coordinator, carry out community mobilization and sensitization about the project activities in collaboration with the WASH cluster/sector, local government leadership structures, partner NGOs and community leadership structures (including faith-based structures)
- Carry out continuous assessments of the WASH situation and needs, document, and report these needs to ADRA Uganda through the Project Coordinator and working with ADRA Uganda Programs department to develop concepts/proposals for suitable interventions to address the identified needs
- Organize and conduct hygiene promotion activities for the project in accordance with the project documents; SPHERE and IASC standards; and applicable government policies and guidelines
- Represent ADRA Uganda in the WASH Cluster working group as shall be assigned by the Project Coordinator
- Establish functional networks and collaborative relationships with relevant UN agencies, local government, faith-based structures, and other NGOs for purposes of enhancing improved access and capacity building of WASH
- Make detailed monthly work plans and budgets for the WASH activities and carry out daily field-based technical support and monitoring of the project activities to ensure quality in the implementation of activities
- In collaboration with the District Local Government and community structures, organize, train, and provide continuous capacity building to Water User Committees, Hygiene Promoters and other stakeholders that are key in the effective implementation of WASH activities
- Develop and/or provide technical support in the development of contextualized WASH IEC materials
- Make weekly/bi-weekly cluster reports and share them with the Project Coordinator, WASH Working Groups, District Local Government and other stakeholders (including religious leaders)
- In compliance with ADRA Uganda’s MEAL system, compile and submit monthly narrative and financial reports of all WASH activities
- Follow up, compile and submit to ADRA Uganda stories, pictures and video clips that demonstrate project impact; and document and submit to ADRA Uganda best practices
- Maintain well organized and up-to-date files containing comprehensive records of all WASH activities of the project, as well as a file containing your work plans, activity reports, and any other relevant information relating to your work
Minimum Qualifications
- A Degree in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other related disciplines
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position/related
- Professional experience in community WASH programs
- Excellent program implementation and report writing skills
- Demonstrated ability in Data Collection, Data Management and Analysis
- Computer skills, especially statistical analysis
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Capacity building, training, and coaching skills
- Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the internet
- Knowledge of project cycle and related tools and methodologies
- Must be fluent in written and oral English
- Must be fluent in the Luo language and dialects
- Must have familiar cultural knowledge and working experience in Acholiland, including the Districts of Agago, Pader, Kitgum, and Lamwo
